·         Appeared on the Sunday Morning News Program, WFOR  (local CBS affiliate).  Discussed what happened to the US economy in the past year – how the economy went from goldilocks to the three bears. (Spring 2001).

·         Appeared on The Financial News Network (Fall 2000) discussing the most recent unemployment report, outlook for oil prices, and the future outlook for the US economy.

 

                Radio Appearances:

·         Voice of America (December 2001).  Discussed the impact of September 11 on the Florida and South Florida economies.  Also discussed the direct impact on tourism and the dependence of the South Florida economy on tourism.

·         News radio 610 (September 2001).  Discussed the impact of 9/11 on the local, state, and US economies and discussed the issues involved in freezing foreign assets.

·         El Nuevo Herald (September 2001).  Discussed the impact of the 9/11 events on the local, State, and US economy. I also discussed the outlook for dealing with these impacts regarding local, state, and US government officials.

·         Discussed the impact and outlook for the real estate market for Miami- Dade County.  The interview also contained my forecast for mortgage rates and appeared in the monthly publication produced by The Construction Association for South Florida (September 2001).

·         Discussed the current state and future outlook for the US and local economies with Tiempos Del Mundo, a weekly publication that circulates in New York City, Washington DC, and Miami.  I was also invited to discuss the current situation in Argentina and the rest of Latin America for the paper’s hemispheric edition (November 2001)

 

                Columnist

·         Hired by Tiempos Del Mundo to write monthly columns on the Florida and South Florida Economies and a separate column on the state of the Economies in Latin America for the Hemispheric Edition that is published in Washington D.C., New York City, Miami, and fifteen capitals across Latin America.

 

                Public Presentations

·         Panelist at the Northeast  Miami-Dade Coalition – discussed the impact of 9/11 on the local and US economies.  In the discussion, I discussed a broad range of policy implications and my outlook for the local, State, and US economies.

·         Presented “ Economic Impact of September 11 on the US and Florida Economies” at the Faculty Lunchtime Symposium Series sponsored by the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy and Citizenship Studies (October 2001)
